Let it snow...

Our first real snow.  It was only about an inch and a half, but it was still snow and I still love it.  Our chickens were hilarious, they kept walking around, putting one foot up, not sure if they were suppose to walk on it or eat it.

Even though it is winter, they are still laying their hearts out.

Hope you all stay warm!

It's Christmas.....

A Rainwater Tradition: placing baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas Eve, after reading from the book of Luke

I LOVE Christmas!!  I love everything about it.  On Christmas Eve we started by visiting Seth's side of the family.  A bowl of warm taco soup (five bean soup I think) with cherry cobbler and ice cream and  exchanged gifts completed the afternoon.

two of our six nieces

We then went to my side of the family, for a Christmas dinner of ham, green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, salad and lots and lots of desserts.  A fun tradition we always have Christmas poppers, these things you pull apart and a small gift flies out.

Yes, the necklace says "Carpe Diem," isn't that cool?

My soon to be sister in all and I getting "Bare Minerals" (love that make-up) thanks Mom!

Seth and his Zalman 2000 (it's some sort of laptop cooler thing, I don't know, but it makes him happy!)

To finish the evening, we finished with our own Christmas tradition, reading the Christmas story from the book of Luke and placing baby Jesus in the manger of our nativity set.  This morning I made our annual hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls breakfast.

We hope that everyone had a joyous Christmas and that the celebration of the birth of our Christ was a wonderful as ours!
Love,
Seth and Jamie

Our First Blog

I love reading other people's blogs about their life and what is going on, and we have a blog just set up for photography, but I wanted to set up a blog about US, our life, putting in the little every day things into it.  So here we are, our first blog.

I am currently on Christmas break (YEAH!) and I got my husband a new laptop for Christmas, a Dell Studio XPS M16.  He is super excited and is currently editing on it as I write this.  We are working on some friends weddings that are way pass due, but we just now had the chance to start working on them (sorry Jim and Jess, Mark and Jeanette)... My husband would like Jim to know that his wedding is the first we've edited on this PC-You should feel special Jim:)
Seth opening his new "baby."  We named it Obsidian, Obie for short...

Some exciting news:  we are going back to Kenya in March for two weeks.  We will doing a video for Into Abbas Arms, an orphanage about three hours-ish from Nairobi. I cannot wait!

an old picture I took in 2006

Christmas is here and with it brings about new beginnings.  How fitting that Christmas is so close to new years, both representing the birth of something.  The Lord is doing some amazing things and He has revealed to us that He has some amazing plans for us.  I just hate the waiting part, you know?  But I know that through Him, everything will be perfect, the timing and everything will work out just right.

God bless and have a wonderful Christmas!
